East Windsor Township Seeks Student Representatives
East Windsor Mayor Janice S. Mironov has announced in a township press release that East Windsor is seeking high school students to serve as Student Representatives to Township boards and commissions.
The East Windsor Township Council has formally established the non-voting position of Student Representative to certain Township advisory boards and commissions. The board and commissions included in the program are: Commission on Aging, Clean Communities Committee, Economic Development Commission, Environmental Commission, Health Advisory Committee and Recreation Commission. Generally, these bodies meet on a monthly basis.
According to Mayor Mironov, “The Township Council seeks to involve young people in our government and believes that student participation injects a fresh outlook into the governmental process. We believe that this program has mutual benefits, hopefully stimulating younger citizens to have a greater interest in and understanding of the role of local government.”
High school students who wish to be considered should submit a letter indicating their area of interest and reasons or related background, to Mayor Janice Mironov and Members of the Township Council, East Windsor Municipal Building, 16 Lanning Boulevard, East Windsor, New Jersey 08520.
