Managing Sports-Related Head Injuries In Children

The Hickory Corner Branch of the Mercer County Library and Princeton Healthcare will host Dr. Alicia Brennan who will talk about “Managing Sports Related Head Injuries in Children” on Monday, November 19 at 7 p.m.

Sport related head injuries are on the rise. A brain injury can be serious even if there is not obvious bleeding or swelling. Bleeding or bruising can occur in the brain itself, which is why it’s always a good idea to talk to your doctor if you suspect your child has sustained a head injury.

Join us for this educational session with Dr. Alicia Brennan, a board-certified pediatric hospitalist with the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) Newborn and Pediatric Care at University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro. She will discuss symptoms and treatments of external and internal sports-related head injuries, signs that may indicate a possible concussion, and how to prevent sports-related head injuries in children.

This program is free and open to the public. Registration is required. Please call the library at 448-1330 or register online at www.mcl.org
