Clark TD Bank Robber Also Robbed East Windsor Branch
The search for the suspect continues.
Clark Police and the FBI are still searching for the suspect who robbed Clark's TD Bank on Aug. 23, but have connected the man to the Aug. 9 robbery of TD's branch in East Windsor.
According to Clark Police Chief Alan Scherb, police were able to make the connection because of security photos and the way in which the man demanded money with a note. The same man appears in both photos and is wearing a Rutgers baseball cap in both robberies. (See a photo of the East Windsor suspect in our gallery.)
At Tuesday night's Clark council meeting, Mayor Sal Bonaccorso added that the suspect apologized to tellers for robbing the bank during the incident, writing in his note to "make it look like a withdrawal" and that "no one would get hurt."
Scherb describes the suspect as a white male in his late 20s or early 30s, with a beard, about 5'9'', wearing a black baseball cap, sunglasses, a gray golf shirt and dark pants. Scherb says no weapon was seen.
Clark Police and the FBI are investigating and are currently reviewing security tapes from businesses in the area. Scherb says the FBI is also now reviewing DNA evidence.
