Second East Windsor Apartment Burglarized While Resident Asleep
East Windsor Township police are investigating the similarities between burglaries that occurred at different apartments in the Windsor Regency complex while residents of those units were sleeping in their beds on Jan. 2 and Dec. 27.
East Windsor Township police are investigating a second incident in which an apartment at the Windsor Regency complex was burglarized while its occupants were asleep.
The most-recent incident was reported to police at 2:57 a.m. on Jan. 2. The resident advised police that he was sleeping in his Windsor Regency apartment when he was awakened by a sound in his bedroom.
“He observed an unknown male in his room, who fled upon being discovered. The complainant described the suspect only as wearing a black North Face jacket and black wool cap.”
Police determined that the suspect had entered the apartment by way of an unsecured rear door. A cellular phone valued at about $100 was stolen.
The crime has similarities to a burglary that occurred at a different Windsor Regency apartment about 12:45 a.m. Dec. 27. In that case, a woman and her boyfriend were awakened after an intruder entered their bedroom. The burglar – described only as a “male with a red jacket” – fled the bedroom and exited that apartment via its rear sliding door.
Note: The preceding arrest information was supplied by the police department of East Windsor Township. It does not indicate a conviction.
