Great job Detective Miller!!! Glad you are being recognized for all your hard work on this case and job well done.

A sad and transparent effort at scrubbing Det. Miller's record. Sad because another detective who may have been truly worthy of recognition was passed over in an effort to save Miller's job. Transparent because, well, does it really need saying again? When your doctor really messes up, you can pick a new one. When a police officer who has taken a sworn oath to protect you messes up and turns predator, can you pick a new one? Why is it so difficult to remove police officers and elected officials who break the law?

He must have really browned nosed the Mercer County Prosecutors Office to get this accolade. During the Giordano investigation it was reported in a local newspaper that media trampled through Ms. Giordano’s apartment for a week before it was sealed off. Miller stated, according to the article, that “It is not a crime scene," ... "I have no right to go through her apartment and her property.” Are you kidding me?

So the NJ State Police were his colleagues during the investigation? No wonder they covered his a** when the gang report was issued. This is a joke right?

I can't believe this is real. Besides the botched Giordano case, and the other issue he SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIRED FOR, this guy has been harrassing me and my friends for years. I remember years ago, he would show up at the high school in a doo rag and shorts and walk around the hallways asking kids for drugs. He created a fake facebook profile of a friend of ours who he knew didn't have facebook because he was a family friend. Then he went on it messaging everyone for drugs. He would sit outside my friends house in his own civilian car, while off duty, just to watch him and see what he was doing.

How does he still have a job?

Please let this be a joke. I thought Police were there to protect the citizens, not harrass. Hightstown doesn't deserve this. It's ashame because most of the force are great officers, this is just the bad apple.

Every woman and girl in Hightstown should be very afraid that if you disappear, this putz will make no effort to look for clues and will say that you ran away without even considering that you might have been murdered.

And the coverup continues. This time with a more ominous twist, as the Police Director and the Prosecutor's Office join in.

This is a joke. Anyone who think Detective Miller is a decent cop is just plain stupid....
I have seen, witnessed, and heard plenty of bad things about this guy that will make you just want to vomit. This is just a big cover up for him to keep his job. It's sad to know there are cops like him who are suppose to be "protecting" Hightstown. I am truely disgusted that this guy is someone we're suppose to trust in. As you can clearly see, no one in this town wants him here. There should be no award, TIME TO MOVE ON!!!!!!

This award is hysterical and certainly a favor for which Mr. Meidt should be ashamed. I covered this closely and members of his agency were none too happy at the time with the way this case was handled locally. So much so that THEY overruled Miller and closed the apartment as a crime scene after Miller uttered this words the week of June 18, 2007:
"It is not a crime scene. I have no right to go through her apartment and her property. If I wanted to do that, I'd have to get a warrant. I can't do that unless there's a crime in New Jersey. There are no indicators, whatsoever, to point in that direction."

I'd love to hear what Mike Vanderbeck, Amy's landlord at the time, thinks of this award. I KNOW what he thought at the time, and some of those comments were on the record and reported.
C'mon Mike, Speak up about this rewriting of local history.
