Hightstown Man Attacked, Robbed

The man was pushed from a vehicle and attacked, police said.

A car ride home took a turn for the worse Monday, September 3, according to the Hightstown Borough Police Department, who responded to a complaint of strong armed robbery and aggravated assault.

Jose Quiterio, 33, reported after a night of drinking at the American Legion in East Windsor, NJ, he received a ride home from a friend and two unknown males, between 1:00 a.m. and 2:00 a.m.

Police said the Hightstown, NJ, man reported the subjects drove him to a wooded area in the area of Springcrest Drive and Westerlea Avenue. Quiterio reported he was pushed out of the vehicle by the subjects who held him down, kicked him in the forehead, and stole his necklace, cellular phone, and wallet, valued around $700.

The victim identified one of his attackers as Marco Cadena, 21, of East Windsor, NJ, who has an active warrant for his arrest in the amount of $5000 for the incident, police said.

Quiterio reportedly described the other assailants as Hispanic males, approximately 25 to 30 years old, approximately 5 feet 4 inches, and weighing approximately 160 to 180 lbs.

The victim sustained lacerations to the head and contusions to the face, but refused medical attention at the time of incident.

There was no vehicle description at the time of the report.

According to Police Director James Le Tellier, police are still searching for Quiterio’s assailants, and the investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Cadena or information on the other suspects is asked to contact the Hightstown Borough Police Department at 609-448-1234.

A bunch of drunks....ILLEGAL immigrants - can't wait to move out of this town - think Director LeTellier is doing a good job however it was way out of control before he got here and think it may be too much for him to catch up with and correct as it has been bad here for over five years - overturn resolution 2005-

Did Jose Quiterio join the military? Why is he drinking at the American Legion? Illegal or not it appears that there are plenty of drunks and dirt bags in Hightstown and East Windsor bringing down the quality of life.

This is what happens when you become a refugee town. Hightstown used to be a great place to live.

What happened to America which used to welcome immigrants, the charitable America abiding to the Covenant and loving its neighbors? There are American criminals around, too, and do you suggest to deport them to where their ancestor came from?

"Quiterio reportedly described the other assailants as Hispanic males, approximately 25 to 30 years old, approximately 5 feet 4 inches, and weighing approximately 160 to 180 lbs."

With a description like that I am sure they will be apprehended in no time.

Jasha, whatever happened to the America which was a land of laws and when a law was broken the offender was punished according to those laws? If you are here illegally then, once that fact has been determined, you should be deported. But, if you are an American citizen and you violate the law, you should be dealt with in situ.

JB, what bothers me is that whenever something Hispanic is mentioned, including recently on the taxi question, writers start their yammering about illegal immigrants. Wouldn't besurprised if the Resolution 2005 that B. Bennet wants tooverturn in the same breath as he hastens to leave Hightstown because of Hispanics, had something to do with them. Or is it something that a majority voted for and he doesn't like it? We have stopped respecting the majority rule as well. Of course, the law should be followed, and for that we have the courts, not the vigilantes. The intolerance that is taking over America is so un-American, and frightening.

jasha a majority of bleeding heart wimpy liberals voted. They have caused these problems by allowing the illegals to be here in the first place. The word illegal says it all. Dont you think?

Right because Reagan, Bush 1 and Bush 2 really cracked down on illegals.

Yes, the word ILLEGAL says it all....first of all, Jasha, don't you live in East Windsor?
Therefore, you don't live in Hightstown and tolerate drinking, partying, pulblic urination, loud music, inconsideration for neighbors and no boundaries. We have had to call the police many times. Yes, we support any nationality if they are LEGAL - if they want to come here, let them learn to speak English, respect our laws and the United States....Hispanic people have told me - LEGAL ONES - when they moved here, they go by our laws. Again you have the ILLEGALs - you don't live in Hightstown....what do you really know about it?
