Driving While Intoxicated

Cameron Harper, 19, of Madison Drive, East Windsor, was arrested about 1 a.m. on Jan. 2 and charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, careless driving, failure to maintain a lane, and being under the influence of narcotics after Officer Troy McWhorter observed Harper’s 1998 Hyundai traveling on Town Center Road “in an erratic manner.”

McWhorter  initiated a traffic stop and detected an odor of burnt marijuana about Harper’s person.  Harper was given field sobriety tests and arrested for DWI.  He was later released pending court action.

Criminal Mischief

Sometime between 8 p.m. on Jan. 1 and 8 a.m. on Jan. 2 someone used a “sharp object” to scratch a vehicle in the parking lot of the Princeton Arms North 2 apartment complex. Damage was estimated at $500.

Driving While Intoxicated

Jimmie Bryant Jr., 56, of the Windsor Castle apartment complex in East Windsor, was arrested about 12:30 a.m. on Jan. 3 and charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, careless driving, obstructing traffic, making an unsafe lane change and making an illegal U-turn.

Officer Michael Adelung observed Bryant’s 2004 Infiniti traveling northbound on Route 130. “The vehicle made an illegal U-turn at Dutch Neck Road and continued to operate in an erratic manner.”

Adelung initiated a traffic stop and detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage about Bryant’s person. Bryant was given field sobriety tests and arrested for DWI. He was later released pending court action.

Fire

At 5:54 p.m. on Jan. 1, township police and firefighters from both East Windsor volunteer fire companies, Hightstown Fire Department and Robbinsville Fire Department were alerted to a fire in a storage shed on Conover Road. The cause of the fire was determined to be cardboard boxes placed too close to a space heater. Because the shed was constructed of cinder block, there was no structural damage. There were no injuries reported.
