Owner of Sal's Pizzeria Alex Scavo died Wednesday at the age of 39.

Born in Princeton, he was a lifelong East Windsor resident restaurateur and businessman. At Sal's Pizzeria he enjoyed working with family and socializing with longtime friends, customers and community members. Scavo took over the family business three years ago after his father, Sal, passed away.

Scavo's hobbies include shooting, leather-working and restoring his beloved Chevelle.

Scavo is survived by his wife of 17 years, Lisa, and his two sons, Sal and Antonio Scavo; his mother, Theresa Scavo; his siblings, Dominic, Thomas and Marianna Scavo; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Sunday at the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square. Cremation services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends may call on Saturday from 3 to 5 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Saul Colonial Home.
