Two Charged in East Windsor Dollar Tree Knifepoint Robbery
Cash and a cell phone were taken, police said.
Two men were charged with holding up the Dollar Tree store in East Windsor at knifepoint earlier this week, according to police.
Residents Michael Shawn Kee, 18, and Malcolm Jamal Browne, 19, threatened two female employees with a "large knife" on Monday and forced them to open the safe, police said. The robbers stole an undisclosed amount of cash and one of the victims cell phones, and broke the other employee's cell phone.
Police said the men hid in the store until closing before they robbed it. No one was injured.
Kee was charged Wednesday, and Browne was charged Thursday with robbery, weapons offenses, terroristic threats, theft and burglary, and were being held at the Mercer County Detention Center on $100,000 bail. Browne turned himself in to police.

Why isn't this reported in the Windsor Hights Herald?
Enormous amount of robberies and other criminal behavior in Hightstown and East Windsor. Was a nice small town years ago and now has turned into a city.

I moved here in 1995. I can say that this area has really changed over the years. And not in a good way. It is still much better than most urban cities, but on the decline.

Crime is everywhere. I do not understand why anyone would do this but more so if you want $$ why rob a Dollar Store. If you are going to take on that risk you'd think these guys would have tried to have a bigger cash cow. I bet they will laugh at them in jail....I can hear it now....."Dollar Store"......Really?

How about this? East Windsor is staffed at an all time low. They have 42 cops. In the 80s and early 90s they had 44. In 1997 they went up to 48 to keep up with the towns growth. In 2004 because of huge growth (Walmart Target Shop Rite Center thousands of houses and Lord knows how many illegal immigrants) the town promised to go to 52, they even wrote it in there ordinances after an independant study was done. Now they have as many as when EW was a little farming community. Just sayin'.

All of you who are constantly complaining about the sudden "wave" of crime in Hightstown / East Windsor should be thankful the police departments in both towns are posting these crimes via social media/newspapers. Get over it - you don't live in Shangri-la, crime doesn't discriminate whether you live in a big city or a small town, and you need to face the reality that you are not living in the 1950's!!!

Right, there is no crime in Virginia! Before you start throwing stones at glass houses you should check the crime statistics in your state. In 2009 alone there were a total of 209,332 crime incidents in VA and 429,112 in 2010. Yes siree, your boys are living in a safe zone!

In this age of instant access to media we hear more than we used to about crimes, etc. Yes, I agree Hightstown and East Windsor have their share of issues... but this type of crime happens everywhere and doesn't seem to be on the rise to me.
