Week in Review: Renovations Planned at Association Park, Meadow Lakes Hosts Opera New Jersey

Renovations, New Equipment Planned for Association Park Playground

Association Park in Hightstown will be getting a makeover, possibly in time for summer. The plan is to paint the fire truck jungle gym, replace the sand in the sandbox area, install a new water fountain, benches and trash cans, install a new toddler swing set, put new seats and hardware on the existing swings, and replace the safety surfacing throughout the playground, Beverly Asselstine, Parks and Recreation Commission secretary, said in an email Wednesday.

Opera Performers Live, Practice at Meadow Lakes

Opera New Jersey performers moved into Meadow Lakes and spent most of their time there. This is the fifth year of the Artist-in-Residence program at Meadow Lakes.

Hightstown Intersection Changes from 2-way to 4-way Stop

The intersection of South Main Street and Ward Street changed from a two-way stop to a four-way stop Thursday after a studied showed high truck and pedestrian volume at the intersection.

Beauty Blooms at Hightstown Flower Shop

Marivel’s Florist & Gifts, located in Michael’s Plaza on Mercer Street, just celebrated its first anniversary in December. Tenesaca has a talent for cutting and arranging flowers, and a love for them that she says bloomed, quite literally, in her grandmother’s garden in Ecuador.
