Weekend Guide: Town-wide Garage Sale
Spring book sale, baseball charity event, flower sale and live music.
The Hightstown town-wide yard sale will take place on Saturday, beginning at 8 a.m. The Hightstown Apollo Masonic Lodge will offer multiple vendors and maps of other vendor locations. The lodge will also hold a blood drive, and offer barbecue burgers and hot dogs (weather permitting), hot and cold drinks and public restrooms.
Friday, May 4:
- The Hightstown Library Association's Spring Book Sale will take place at the Hightstown Memorial Branch Library from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Proceeds benefit programs at the library. The sale continues on May 5 and May 7.
Saturday, May 5:
- Twin Rivers Writers' Group will meet at the Twin Rivers library branch at 2 p.m. Bring five pages of a work-in-progress to discuss with other writers. For adults only.
- The band Sound Bites will perform at Station Bar & Grill, beginning at 9 p.m.
Sunday, May 6:
- Ethel McKnight Elementary School will hold a Spring Festival & Flower Sale, beginning at 10 a.m. Local businesses and crafters will display their products and services. There will be face painting, chair massages, a fire truck, zumba dancing, door prizes and more.
- Shalom Heritage Center will present the 11th Annual L'ag B'Omer Family Fun Day at Etra Lake Park, beginning at noon. The event will feature an obstacle course, giant slide, carnival games, face painting, food and more.
- The “Going, Going, Gone” charity baseball game starts at 10 a.m., with the first pitch being thrown at 9:30 a.m. Organizers ask for a $10 donation from participants.
- First Presbyterian Church will host a singer-songwriter concert featuring Lisa Bouchelle, Kim Yarson, Sandy Zio, Mike Matisa, and "Papa" Carl Anderson at 320 N. Main St. in Hightstown at 7 p.m. The concert is a benefit for the church's outreach and global missions.
