Weekend Storm Not Expected to Be as Strong As Originally Forecasted

Cold temperatures to last through the weekend

The powerful storm that was expected to hit our area starting tomorrow looks to have weakened and the National Weather Service (NWS) is predicting much less snowfall to cover our area.

According to the most recent predictions from the NWS the storm is expected to arrive Friday afternoon and go through Friday night but there should only be a maximum of four inches falling on the ground. Many areas may see only an inch of snow or less depending on where they are in the path of the storm.

The snowfall may not be as bad as what was originally predicted but the temperatures over the next few days will remain at or below the freezing mark. Starting tomorrow the high is expected to be around 25 before dropping down near 19 degrees tomorrow night.

Saturday's high temperature is predicted to be near 29 degrees before hitting a low near 15 on Saturday night. Temperatures will begin to rise on Sunday with a high of 34 and a low of 22 before hitting highs near 40 to start next week.

Thanks, I was getting so many conflicting stories on how bad this storm was going to be.

Even four inches of snow is too much. Since it's so cold, it will turn icy and that's worse. Will someone please turn on the heat switch? I keep telling my husband that I was meant to live in a warmer climate but he doesn't listen.

prefer no snow at all, especially since if there is any threat of snow the stores will be swamped with people buying everything to last for a month. Unfortunately I have to do my shopping on weekends, since I am part of the minority in this county that actually works for a living

Jersey Girl......then move to Vermont. You probably don't have to shovel or drive anywhere.
