The Princeton School of Rock is happy to announce that Karaline Rosen is their Student of the Month for October. Rosen enrolled at the school in June of 2007 when she was only 10 years old and since joining has developed into quite a musician. To date, she has performed in over 100 shows via the program during the last five years. And according to Music Director Dante Cimino, “We can count on Karaline taking on the songs with the hardest vocal parts and she never disappoints us.” He adds, “She is also very responsible and is always prepared at every rehearsal.”
Rosen started playing the piano when she was 4 years old. She made the leap from playing the oboe in 4th grade to joining the School of Rock and now sings and plays keys and bass. “School of Rock is like my second home. I spend several days a week here and I am lucky to have some really great friends in the program with me,” said Rosen. “The teachers and directors have taught me how to be a great musician and give me the opportunity to grow and learn all the time,” she added.
But the learning is not limited to music. “School of Rock has taught me that you need to believe in yourself. My teachers are very supportive and encouraging. Even when I think I can't do something, they have confidence in me, and that gives me the motivation to learn and try my best.” And it seems Rosen enjoys the challenges the program offers. “I especially want to thank Dante Cimino for being the best music director and giving me the opportunity to show that I can handle whatever he throws my way.”
Rosen believes that The School of Rock is a place where she can be herself and not be judged by anyone. “The kids who come here all support each other. We have a great time at rehearsals and gigs. We even get together outside of the school and have formed some really great friendships that will last a lifetime.”
“Over the years Karaline has become a talented, energetic young vocalist,” according to Cimino. Everyone here at the Princeton school can’t wait to see what challenge she takes on next.
Thanks for being a shining student at our school, Karaline! Congratulations!
