Bottom Dollar Food and Retro Fitness will be opening within the Windsor Center on Route 130.
Two of the empty storefronts in the Windsor Center will be filled shortly as a food store and a fitness location have agreed to take over two of the largest spots in the shopping center. Bottom Dollar Food will take the 22,500 space formerly held by Super Fresh while Retro Fitness will take the 12,500 square feet spot formerly occupied by another fitness center. The Super Fresh location had been closed since April of 2011. Advance Realty announced that Bottom Dollar is expected to open in October. They describe the chain as a "soft-discount grocery store," that, "offers customers an assortment of private and national brand grocery items in an energetic shopping environment." As part of the mall’s ongoing revitalization project, Quaker Bridge Mall will welcome three new retailers over the next several months. In May, teen retailer Aeropostale is slated to re-open its Quaker Bridge location with a new prototype store on the upper level of the center between Lord & Taylor and Macy’s. The high-tech store design will feature iPods in fitting rooms so shoppers can personalize the music while trying on items; Apple desktops and iPads will be available throughout the store for customers to scan products, read reviews and utilize the retailer’s build-your-own-outfit guide. Petco’s new distribution center, located on Prospect Plains Road in Cranbury Township, is holding a grand opening ceremony on Thursday, May 16 at 11 a.m. "The new distribution center is a significant contributor to local employment and uses state-of-the-art technology to efficiently deliver thousands of products to Petco store shelves," Fleishman Hillard publicist Marcus Dockter said. Local real estate prices are continuing to drop, according to Prudential Fox & Roach, Realtors HomExpert Market Report. East Windsor According to the report, the number of properties in East Windsor that sold during the first quarter of 2013 was 43, the same as the first quarter in 2012. In 2011, 30 homes were sold and in 2010 44 were sold. In addition, the median price of properties sold during the first quarter of 2013 dropped 6.8 percent from the same time last year and is down 30.5 percent from 2010. According to the report, the median price of properties sold during the first quarter of 2013 was $193,000, down from $207,000 in 2012. In 2011, the median price was $200,000, and $277,500 in 2010.
