Rise, a Community Service Partnership receives $20,895 from Princeton Area Community Foundation Fund for Women and Girls

The Princeton Area Community Foundation Fund for Women and Girls awarded Rise, a Community Service Partnership a grant of $20, 895 to support Women and Girls on the Rise. The grant is made possible by the collective generosity of 295 donors to the Fund for Women and Girls who care about the well-being of girls and the women who raise them.

The grant will provide access to services for women and girls in the Hightstown and East Windsor area to integrate healthy dating behavior, leadership training and domestic violence counseling.

 

Rise, a Community Service Partnership is the hub of social service support in the Hightstown and East Windsor and surrounding local communities. In 2013, Rise increased services to more families by 21 percent and provided more support to the community than at any other time in their 48 year history. Last year with the help of community partnerships and 8,022 Rise volunteer hours, the organization:

 

  • Distributed food and personal products three mornings a week to 525 families each month at the Rise Food Pantry.
  • Provided 240 women and men with affordable mental health counseling and domestic violence counseling.
  • Gave local low -income children 771  holiday gifts, 300 back-to school backpacks and 100 children a six-week Rise Summer Academic Enrichment program.
  • Taught Kreps middle-school students about healthy dating relationships in the afterschool Safe Dates program.
  • Partnered with TASK to provide 14,025 hot meals at two local houses of worship in Hightstown.
