Gourgaud Gallery to Feature The Works of Teachers

The United Federation of Teachers (NYC) will be featured at the art gallery's March exhibit.

Teachers will be putting their best foot forward during the March exhibit at the Gourgaud Gallery in Cranbury.

This exhibit is a collection of works by the southern New Jersey Chapter of the United Federation of Teachers (NYC) painting class, located in Manalapan, and features acryllic paintings. The class, started in 2010 by retired art teacher Linda Gilbert, is made up of New York City teachers, or their spouses. 

A reception will be held on Sunday, March 3, from 1 to 3 p.m. and the gallery’s hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the first, third and last Sunday of the month from 1 to 3 p.m.

Artists will be available at the reception to share and discuss their work with the visitors. Refreshments will be served.

The United Federation of Teachers Welfare Fund maintains a Department of Retiree Programs to develop and conduct informational meetings, with cultural, instructional, and recreational programs for retirees.

As part of the non-profit Cranbury Arts Council, the Gourgaud Gallery donates 20 percent of any art sales to the Cranbury Arts Council and its programs that support and promote the Arts in the community. Cash or a check made out to the Cranbury Arts Council is accepted as payment.
