Cranbury Township kicked off the holiday season Friday with their annual Tree Lighting, sponsored by the Women's Club of Cranbury and the Cranbury Fire Department.
Cadette Girl Scout Kelly Coyle teamed up with organizers to help for her silver award project and helped create the winter funland. Coyle also collected Toys for the Toys for Tots, which gives back to those in need this holiday season. Inside the firehouse kids created eco-friendly ornaments, decorated cookies and wrote a letter to Santa.
The Cranbury Brass Band played throughout the night and people joined the caroling.

Santa was brought in on a Cranbury fire truck and helped light the Christmas tree. Children sat on Santa's lap, talked about if they were good or bad, and told him they wanted for Christmas.
