Weekend Guide: Easter Weekend Activities

Lots to do for people of all ages around East Windsor, Hightstown and Cranbury.

With the possible exception of Easter Sunday, the weather for our area looks beautiful this weekend and there should be plenty for residents to do to keep busy throughout East Windsor, Hightstown and Cranbury. 

Fish Fry

The Hightstown Elks Lodge will hold its final Fish Frydays of Lent before the holiday arrives. The Fish Fry is scheduled for Friday, March 29 at 6 p.m.

Easter Bunny Visit

The Easter Bunny will be visiting Tavern On The Lake in Hightstown on Friday, March 29 between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. A free slice of pizza will be offered for kids 12 and under. Parents, don't forget the camera!

LifeTools Presentation

"LifeTools: How to Manage Life Instead of Life Managing You" is being presented at the Twin Rivers Branch of the Mercer County Library. Carol Richard will discuss some secret weapons that can put you back in charge. Leave with new 'tools' to help you manage life, and the understanding how to minimize the impact of stress. Registration is required. The free presentation is scheduled for Saturday, March 30 at 1 p.m

Wild Plant Walk

Dan Farella is holding a "Wild Plant Walk" at Princeton's Marquand Park on Saturday, March 30 at 2 p.m. Learn how to identify many plants revered in the herbal traditions for healing ailments, as well as how to forage for nutritious wild food directly from the land. Sample the wild plant wonders nature guides us to, and focus on methods to use and prepare them. Gain the skills and confidence necessary to utilize the countless organic, fresh, local and free plant resources. Pre-registration required. The walk costs $20.

Easter Egg Hunt

On Saturday, VFW Post 5700 in East Windsor will hold is annual Easter Egg Hunt starting at 1 p.m. Participants were asked to register by last weekend and the admission is one canned good per child. The event will also include a hot dog lunch and a visit by the Easter Bunny.
