"Occupying Wall Street" Photography Exhibit Opening Reception

The Mariboe Gallery at Peddie School is presenting “Occupying Wall Street,” an exhibition of photographs by Accra Shepp.

The exhibition will run Sept. 7 through Oct. 3.

Accra Shepp is a photographer who has exhibited in both the US and abroad. On Sept. 30, 2011 Mr. Shepp went to Zuccotti Park, in New York City, to investigate the Occupy Wall Street protests that began there a couple weeks prior.

Sensing that the protests had the potential to be historically significant, he decided to record them. Using a large format camera, he captured the diversity of the participants and the range of their activities of the burgeoning movement.

There will be an opening reception and artist talk on Sept. 7, 6:30-8 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.
