Allen & Stults Insurance Employee Named Volunteer of the Year

The award was given by the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of New Jersey.

The Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of New Jersey (IIABNJ) awarded Jerry Ford, a vice president at  in Hightstown, with the Howard Kucher Volunteer of the Year Award, according to a news release.

Ford said Monday that he believes his work with a national program called InVEST helped him achieve the Volunteer of the Year award. The program helps students in school get training to eventually work in the insurance field.

In New Jersey, Ford heads up the program, and has helped establish InVEST at Mercer County Community College. He said students could take online classes while still in school to get an insurance license, and eventually the program helps with job placement.
