Mayor Presents East Windsor Township Business Awards

The award categories included beautification, community service and general enhancement.

Three local businesses were awarded the East Windsor Township Business Award in the categories of beautification, community service and general enhancement at Tuesday’s council meeting. 

Americana Hospitality Group received the award in the beautification category for their ongoing development along the Route 130 corridor, according to Mayor Janice Mironov.

“We are especially excited about the look,” Mironov said, calling it a “first class development” and “very modern, stunningly attractive.”

In the second category, community service and contributions, Manager Mike McDonald accepted the award for the businesses work with the community.

“They really give back to the community,” Mironov said. “They have been an integral part of our community for many, many years.”

was given the Business Award in the general enhancement category for their contributions to Rise: A Community Partnership, which is located in Hightstown but serves both Hightstown and East Windsor.

“I think they’ve adopted Rise,” Mironov said. “It really does shine through in that respect.”

Rise Executive Director Leslie Koppel and said Diversified Rack and Shelving not only re-shelved the food pantry and thrift store, but also anonymously donated ShopRite gift cards to the families Rise serves.

Owner Ron Longo accepted the award at Tuesday’s meeting.

Committee members Ed Kelly, Michael Henderson and John Zoller chose this year’s winners.
