Communities of Light Raising Money for Domestic Violence Awareness

Womanspace is holding the event Dec. 12 at the East Windsor Municipal Buildling.

Womanspace and East Windsor Township are holding Communities of Light, aimed to raise money for domestic violence awareness and victim services, according to a news release.

The event will light up the area outside the Municipal Building. Participants can purchase luminary kits, which include six candles, for $10 at PNC Bank, Gold’s Gym and Fulton Bank, the release said.

“The lighting of luminaries is a unique means of increasing local awareness of the ongoing presence of domestic violence in all of our communities and to serve as a symbol of hope for all those who struggle with violence in their homes,” said Mayor Janice Mironov.
