Cranbury Library Offers 'Novel Destinations'

Together with the Summer Reading and READ to FEED programs, it'll offer something for everyone.

By Marilynn Mullen, Director, Cranbury Public Library

This summer the  is encouraging everyone to read and take part in our Summer Reading Program. On June 23 at 7 p.m. adults are invited to come to the library and sample foods from around the world. While you’re here try our Mango Languages online language program. Use a kindle. Try out an iPad. Download an eBook or eAudioBook from our new ListenNJ service. Browse the Morningstar Investment Research Center. Staff will be available to answer questions and help you each step of the way.

While you are in the library pick up a list of "NOVEL Destinations" and begin our READ to FEED program. READ to FEED is a program the library is doing in co-operation with Heifer International. For every five books you read you earn a coupon worth 5 cents toward a gift of an animal given to a family in a developing country through Heifer International. Coupons will be collected in our READ to FEED jar so everyone can watch how their reading increases the donation!

Thanks go to the Friends of the Library who are sponsoring this program! The Friends will donate up to $350 to Heifer International. That amount would buy a goat, a sheep, three rabbits, a flock of chicks and honeybees. Please read all summer to help us reach the maximum goal!
