Flight 93 Passengers, Crew Remembered at Memorial Dedication

Cranbury resident Todd Beamer was killed on board Flight 93 on 9/11.

Former Presidents and the Vice President attended the Flight 93 memorial dedication ceremony Saturday, according to The Associated Press.

Cranbury resident Todd Beamer was among Flight 93's 40 passengers and crew killed during the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. Beamer and other passengers prevented the hijackers from hitting their intended target.

During the hijacking Beamer was on the phone with Lisa Jefferson, a GTE telephone operator, before the flight crashed. The last thing Jefferson heard from him was the words "Let's roll."

"In my heart, I knew Todd was not just sitting in the back of the plane," David Beamer, Todd's father, told First Coast News.

The Flight 93 memorial is not complete, and former President Bill Clinton and U.S. House Speaker John Boehner announced Saturday they will help raise the remaining money for the memorial, The Associated Press reported.

On the Face of Courage: Todd M. Beamer Facebook page, one user wrote, "This man is my hero. I think about his faith in God during the toughest of situations & his bravery that day. I will never forget his & the other passengers sacrifice that day. you guys ready.. ok let's roll."
