Four Hightstown Residents Face Irene Head-On

They are crossing an item off their bucket list, while hoping to keep spirits high.

Driving through Hightstown Saturday night, you may have seen four men walking around in bathing suits, an inner-tube and a scuba mask.

“We're just walking around and having fun," Victor Veltre says.

Hightstown residents Jesse Mazza, 22, Bruce Allen, 25, Steve Miller, 23, and Veltre, 25, were crossing "Surviving a Hurricane" off their bucket list while trying to take a positive attitude toward a dangerous situation faced by the entire East Coast.

“We’re waiting for it,” Miller says. "We're trying to keep morale high."

Allen said they were embracing life while dealing with the storm. They hope when people see them, it helps lift their spirits in light of the situation.
