Fun For Adults at the Hickory Corner Library

Summer Reading Club headlines a season of events for grownups

Who says kids should have all the fun? Adults, ages 18 and up can join the Summer Reading Club for Grownups  at the Hickory Corner Branch of the Mercer County Library System for a chance to win a book of their choice and a grand prize of a $25 Barnes & Noble gift card.

Stop by the library and pick up a raffle ticket on which you will write your name, phone or e-mail, the title and author of a book you have read and a two- or three-sentence mini-review of the book. Your raffle ticket will be entered into a weekly drawing for a chance to win a free book. Those who participate will also be entered for a chance to win the grand prize of a $25 gift card to be awarded in mid August. You can read or listen to any book or audio book of your choosing, either fiction or non-fiction. The fun continues until Aug. 12.

In addition, there will be special events like Rangoli Indian folk art on July 6, a self-defense class for women on July 16 and a Twitter class on July 22. For more information or to register for classes, call the library at 609-448-1330.

While you’re in the library, check out one of our special collections like our New Jersey collection with books on New Jersey history, gardening, wildlife and culture or our Spanish Language collection with books on parenting, GED, citizenship, fiction and self improvement written in Spanish for adults. The library also offers extensive large print, mystery, romance and science fiction collections.
