Mercer County Libraries Go Digital

The Hightstown Branch explains how county patrons can now download books in addition to borrowing physical copies.

Did you get a new Nook or Sony reader recently? Or do you do most of your reading on your mobile device? Well, the Mercer County Library System is still the place to look for your reading needs. It’s easy to borrow digital books for your reader, or to download audio books for your MP3 player or iPod.

The Mercer County Library is a member of ListenNJ, a consortium of Central New Jersey libraries that have created the digital download service through OverDrive for our patrons. eBooks are offered through the system, and apps are available for the iPad, iPhone, Blackberry and Android.

ListenNJ now contains over 6,000 audio books and 1,500 eBooks.  It can be easily accessed through the Mercer County Library System’s web page at www.mcl.org. Digital books can also be found through the regular library catalog.
