Mid-March Activities for Children

Your family weekend planner for March 17 through 19.

  • Cinderella Jr., Thursday and Friday, East Brunswick Performing Arts Center, 200 Rues Lane, East Brusnwick

 The Hammarskjold Middle School Drama Club will perform the musical, “Cinderella Jr.,” including a beautiful score that includes “A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes” and “Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo.” Box office opens at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $5 each. Performances start at 7 p.m.

  •  Dream Catcher Craft, Saturday, 3 to 4 p.m., Mercer County Library—Lawrence Branch, Rt.1, Lawrence Township

Children ages 8 and up can come and participate in this craft and make dream catchers. Kits will be provided. Registration is required, as space is limited. For more information, call 609-882-9246 or visit www.mcl.org.

  • Tots on Tour, Saturday, 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., Visitor’s Center, Grounds for Sculpture, Hamilton

Children ages 3 to 5 (accompanied by an adult) can listen to a story, create art and become park explorers. Learn about sculpture through hands-on activities. Spaces available on a limited basis; tots get a discount at the museum’s Peacock Café. Admission is $12 adults, $10 students/seniors, $8 children and free for members.   • Paper Folding for Kids, Sunday, 1 to 2 p.m., Activity Room, Mercer County Library—Lawrence Branch, Route 1, Lawrence Township

Children ages 5 to 10 can join Chung Ja Kim, a certified teacher in the art of paper folding, to learn basic paper folding. Materials will be provided. Registration is required, as space is limited. For more information, call 609-882-9246 or visit www.mcl.org.

  • Art for Families, Saturday, 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Princeton University Art Museum, Princeton

Children can enjoy an interactive, self-guided tour of the museum and create an art project based on a special theme. Admission is free and no reservations are required. Drop in anytime Saturday between 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Check the museum’s website for details.
