Release of Clementi Companion's Name in Top State News

The Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office announced Wednesday that the identity of the man who was with Rutgers University student Tyler Clementi during a webcam broadcast has been  of Clementi's former roommate, Dharun Ravi of Plainsboro. The Prosecutor's Office will not appeal the judge's ruling that the identity and date of birth of the man, known only in documents as "M.B." must be released to the defense. Ravi, 19, stands accused of bias intimidation and invasion of privacy charges for allegedly spying on Clementi and M.B. via webcam while he and Clementi were roommates at Rutgers University last year.

Newark may  for two days next week. Officials in New Jersey's largest city started informing residents and visitors Wednesday to expect traffic delays downtown Nov. 3 and 4 because of what appears to be the filming of the next Batman movie, "The Dark Knight Rises." City officials would not confirm that's the flick, but Newark Mayor Cory Booker announced on Twitter in May that he met with the film's producer.

Anthony Young, the confessed triggerman in the 2004 shooting death of government informant Kemo Deshawn McCray and a key prosecution witness, faced Paul Bergrin, the experienced trial lawyer defending himself against charges of orchestrating McCray's murder to shield himself from being revealed as a cocaine supplier to a gang and, prosecutors say, helping a drug-dealing client in Newark, William Baskerville, beat narcotics charges. The welfare of the city of Hoboken is in the hands of the four City Council members who  of an agreement that would help close the sale of the Hoboken University Medical Center, said mayor Dawn Zimmer at a press conference on Friday. Without it, taxpayers could have to pay a $63 million bond in 60 days, said Zimmer, which the city can't afford. Zimmer said she may have to declare bankruptcy for the city.

A year ago, a federal judge sent James Nicholson away to prison for 40 years for running a $140 million Ponzi scheme. Attorneys and forensic accountants who helped recover investor's money have been paid, but the investors who entrusted their money to the former Saddle River hedge fund manager have yet to get back a penny. Summit Solicitor Barry Osmun agrees with a local resident that four City Council members violated open government laws by  over email and out of the public eye. Osmun was asked to issue an opinion after Summit resident Guy Haselmann presented 440 pages of emails to Common Council earlier this month calling into question the local body's adherence to open meetings, or sunshine laws. Osmun issued a memo Wednesday to Hasselmann, the council, the mayor, the city administrator and the city clerk, that said an email sent from a council member to a majority of the governing body was a violation of the Sunshine Law.

U.S. Sen. Robert Menendez (D) visited Gloucester Township Friday afternoon to  he wrote. The Energy Efficiency Conservation Block Grant initiative has brought more than $75 million to New Jersey for clean-energy projects. Of the total funding awarded to the Garden State, a $564,900 grant made its way to Gloucester Township to pay for the installation of solar panels atop the municipal building and other green initiatives, including the placement of energy efficient LED lamps in all township traffic signals.

On the four-year anniversary of the death of Rowan University student Donald "Donnie" Farrell, investigators hold out hope someone can . Farrell, a 19-year-old sophomore, died Oct. 28, 2007, one day after he was assaulted while walking with friends in the parking lot of a Route 322 convenience store near Rowan's campus in Glassboro. Farrell was from Boonton.
