Trick-or-Treaters across the region are crossing their fingers.
According to the National Weather Service, there’s a very good chance that a nor’easter will hit the area early next week, just in time to soak the area. Of course as any kid knows, Halloween is Wednesday, Oct. 31.
“The potential continues for a very dangerous autumn storm system to affect the region early next week,” said a statement from the service. “This storm will be associated with what is currently Hurricane Sandy. This storm, if it moves toward us, will bring multiple threats to the region.”
Among those threats are:
• Strong damaging wind gusts
• Extremely heavy rainfall
• Major flooding along streams and rivers
• Major coastal flooding (full moon occurs on Oct. 29).
Many wil remember last October, when an unseasonal snow storm hit the area just days before Halloween.
The national Weather Service says an update will be available later today.
