Hightstown Minors Allegedly Shoplift from East Windsor Target

East Windsor Police responded to a shoplifting complaint at Target on Saturday, Feb. 9. Two Hightstown juveniles were seen removing security devices from several electronic items by store personnel.

East Windsor Recognized with Sustainable Jersey Certification

East Windsor is going green, and they’ve got the “hardware” to prove it. Mayor Janice S. Mironov announced that East Windsor was recognized for achieving Sustainable Jersey Bronze Level Certification at the annual Sustainable Jersey special recognition ceremony on Jan. 29.

East Windsor Awarded Small Cities Community Development Block Grant

East Windsor Township was awarded a $200,000 Small Cities Community Development Block Grant from the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs, Mayor Janice Mironov announced Wednesday, Feb. 20. The grant will enable East Windsor to undertake a housing rehabilitation program to assist at least twelve East Windsor homeowners make important needed home repairs. 

DOT Commissioner: We Need Feedback Quickly On Jughandle Idea

New Jersey Department of Transportation Commissioner James Simpson wants residents and elected officials to weigh in quickly on the conceptual plan to ease traffic along Route 1 in West Windsor and Plainsboro. "If we can get this (project) into the (federal transportation) program, if everyone buys into it, it will be a Herculean task," Simpson said. "So the message that I want to deliver to everybody here is get on board quickly or say no quickly."

Police: Hightstown Man Wields Kitchen Knife, Threatens Patron at Mahzu

Joseph Scirocco, 20, of Hightstown was arrested by East Windsor police on Saturday, Feb. 16 and charged with aggravated assault and weapons offenses after he allegedly threatened another person with a knife, the East Windsor Police Department reported.

Hightstown Votes Down Study of Lucas Electric for Borough Hall 

The Hightstown Borough Council voted down a resolution authorizing Borough officials to investigate the feasibility of permanently relocating the Borough office at their Council meeting Tuesday night.  At the moment, the Hightstown Borough Halloffices have been relocated to the public works building at 156 Bank Street since the offices were flooded by Hurricane Irene in August 2011.
