East Windsor Mayor Janice Mironov joined Dr. Anjali Shah to celebrate the grand opening of All Smiles Family Dental, a new family dentistry, last week. The office is located next to Party City in the Town Center Shopping Center on Route 130 South.

Former Hightstown Postmaster Dies at 67
Stanley Krulikowski, 67, of Tobyhanna, PA, passed away after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer on Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at Compassionate Care Hospice, Trenton. Born in Newark, NJ, Stanley was a longtime resident of the Allentown and Hamilton areas before retiring to Tobyhanna. A graduate of Seton Hall University, Stanley retired in 1999 as postmaster from the Hightstown Post Office after a 26-year career with the federal government.

Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno Talks Economic Development with East Windsor Mayor
Mayor Janice S. Mironov was joined by New Jersey Lieutenant Governor Kim Guadagno in hosting a New Jersey League of Municipalities-sponsored special business event held at the East Windsor Senior Center on March 5. “We appreciate the partnership with Lieutenant Governor Guadagno to focus on the important subject of attracting new business to our communities and supporting and growing our existing businesses," Mironov said.
East Windsor Man Charged in $12K Jewelry Heist
An East Windsor man was arrested recently on charges alleging he stole $12,000 worth of jewelry and later sold the stolen property at a local cash-for-gold business. East Windsor police allege that the suspect, Bryan Langere, 21, of Jamestown Road, took the jewelry from a Jamestown Road residence between 9 a.m. on Jan. 27 and 10:30 a.m. on March 4.
Hightstown Man Wanted for Allegedly Possessing Child Pornography
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigators are looking for a Hightstown man wanted for allegedly possessing child pornography. The department is asking for the public's help to locate a suspected child predator, Fredy Marcelo Arbito, 30, of Hightstown, who is wanted for possessing child pornography. He allegedly was also duping at least one young victim to produce additional child pornography, according to ICE.
New Pope Francis Elected: St. Anthony's of Hightstown Reacts
Argentine Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio was elected the new pope of the Catholic Church on Wednesday, March 13. Bergoglio, 76, chose the name Francis I. He is the first Jesuit pope and first Latin American pope in Papal history. Rev. Patrick J. McDonnell, Pastor of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Hightstown, said he was pleasantly surprised at the selection. “I think this is going to be a good pope, he’s a Jesuit and he has the ability now to communicate with so many Latino people, it’s going to be a great papacy,” Rev. McDonnell said.
Gil & Bert's Ice Cream Expands and Goes Mobile
Food trucks are big business these days, especially now that they can be found not only on roads throughout the area, but on Food Network and Cooking Channel, where they’re shown serving up everything from burgers to sushi, and from egg sandwiches to lobster. Cranbury residents and ice cream lovers can rejoice, the area now has its very own version of these culinary delights on wheels—Big Bertie, the ice cream truck from Gil & Bert’s.
Crash in McDonald's Drive-Thru Leads to DWI Charge
A Monmouth County man was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving after he crashed his vehicle while navigating the drive-thru lane of the McDonald’s restaurant on Route 130 earlier this month, East Windsor police reported. Police said Robert Connaghan, 56, of Marlboro struck a “protective barrier” in the McDonald’s drive-thru lane about 2:45 p.m. on March 5.
Car Strikes Utility Pole and Overturns on Route 130
Two people became entrapped in their car after it left the roadway, hit a utility pole, and flipped over on Route 130 North near Old Cranbury Road Thursday night. East Windsor police arrived at the scene of the accident around 10:14 p.m. to find a 2011 red Kia resting on its roof. Anthony Saer, 72, of Monroe, was driving the vehicle at the time of the accident.
East Windsor Schools' Tentative Budget Raises Taxes 2 Percent
The East Windsor Regional School District has presented a tentative budget for the 2013-2014 school year which indicates a tax levy increase of 2 percent, hitting the state mandated cap. Superintendent Dr. Edward Forsthoffer, III, Ed.D presented the budget to the Board of Education at their meeting on Wednesday, March 6. The tax levy went up 1.81 percent for the 2012-2013 school year. For next year, the tentative budget projects a tax levy increase of 2 percent bringing the resident amount to $59,096,205.
