Week in Review: East Windsor Woman Pleads Guilty, New Sergeant Sworn In

An East Windsor woman pleaded guilty Tuesday to hitting and killing a 54-year-old man with cerebral palsy in 2010 after taking a prescription drug and driving, according to the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office.

A member of the East Windsor Township Police Department was promoted to sergeant Tuesday night with a swearing in ceremony at the council meeting.

Two vehicles collided, leaving one overturned, at the intersection of Hickory Corner Road and Route 33 Thursday evening.

East Windsor Rescue Squad District 1 Deputy Chief Kira Behen was named the 2012  EMT of the year along with  recipient, squad President Amanda Brooks, at the Township Council meeting Tuesday night. The awards coincide with National EMS Week, which runs May 20 to 26.

Cranbury resident and girl scout Lisa D'souza organized a cleanup in town as she worked toward her silver award.
