East Windsor Resident Ordered to Pay Back More Than $3 Million to 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund

An East Windsor man who pleaded guilty in 2008 to defrauding the 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund has been ordered to pay back more than $3 million, the U.S. Attorney’s office said Wednesday. Mastellone said he injured his back on 9/11 and was disabled from the attacks, but authorities later found a video of him doing the limbo at a wedding in 2002.

Fifth Annual 5K Run Raises Money for Hightstown High School After Prom

The fifth annual  will be held Sunday, and helps raise money for the Hightstown High School After Prom party. The race is named after Keith Berman’s daughter, Stephanie Berman, who was tragically killed in an accident in 2000.

Hightstown Paving Project Detours Nighttime Traffic

A road-paving project started on Route 33 Sunday, leading to detours for vehicles attempting to navigate through downtown Hightstown at night. The paving and milling project, which is being done by the New Jersey Department of Transportation, is scheduled to last for approximately a week and the road will be closed from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Update: FEMA Assessing Cranbury Damage

Federal Emergency Management Agency representatives visited homeowners Wednesday where there was severe flooding to assess the damage, according to an update from the Township. They also visited municipal buildings and facilities affected by the flood. There were  after Hurricane Irene.
