State of Emergency Declared, Roads Conditions Slick

Between four to eight inches of snow possible, according to the National Weather Service.

Gov. Chris Christie declared a state of emergency because of the severe weather conditions.

Christie advised people to stay off the roads and said over 500,000 people in New Jersey are without power.

"Please stay at home and stay safe tonight in NJ," Christie said on Twitter.

The New Jersey State Police said on Twitter there is no travel ban, however people should use caution if they need to drive.

PSE&G's outage map is reporting up to 500 people without power in Cranbury, with no outages in East Windsor or Hightstown.

Jersey Central Power & Light's outage map is not reporting any outages in East Windsor, Cranbury or Hightstown.

Snow, ice and wind are creating dangerous road conditions, making travel hazardous or impossible, according to the National Weather Service. The winter storm is expected to bring between four to eight inches of snow in the area with temperatures in the low 30s.

NJ Transit is reporting delays up to 30 minutes on the Northeast Corridor line.

The National Weather Service is reporting the snow will end between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m.
