Demagoguery in Hightstown

Demagoguery by Hightstown Borough council's two  leading demagogues, Gale Doran and Rob Thibault is in full bloom. And what is a demagogue? A leader who makes use of popular prejudices and false claims and promises in order to gain power rather than by using rational  argument.  But rational augment by these two irrational borough demagogues cannot be achieved for they are not rational in any way.
We create housing ordinances for the purposes of protecting our residents health and well being. We charge fees to cover the cost of such inspections. The revised ordinance supported by Doran and Thibault strikes out the exception statement: b. Rentals or occupancy by students, faculty or staff of nonprofit educational institutions of on campus premises owned and maintained by such institutions, nor shall it apply to ". Transient occupancies of hotel rooms remains an exception to inspections.
Is it done for the purpose of health and well being of students and faculty? Not according to their public statements. With stupidity beyond comprehension the statements of Doran and Thibault support such a change because:  " It is giving special privileges to one group that other residents, other property owners are forced to bear the costs for".  Not for the health and welfare of the students and faculty which is why we pass ordinances, but for demagoguery of Peddie or any town citizens. So we will have further legal cost to defend this demagoguery.
Rob and Gail classify a private school that puts Hightstown on the map as equivalent to the for profit landlords of housing. He and Gail shout and rant about equality and " taxing Peddie to the extent that we legally can and hold them accountable. But the courts have said you can't tax the tax exempt. And holding them accountable,  accountable to who? Surely not to these elected demagogues who represent the worst of human traits. 
The fiscal strain of tax exempts on our community that Larry Quatrone speaks of existed forty eight years ago when I came to Hightstown and paid $850 in property taxes, now $14,000. We have no less or more in tax exempts in the Borough. The services then and now are the same but the costs are not. Nor is the population of Hightstown and East Windsor which was just over ten thousand. Now the population is 33,000. The school population was 1,200 and now 5,000. Our Borough as a business is not sustainable in terms of costs to the taxpayers. Demagoguery of Peddie will create unwanted and unneeded problems.
These two demagogues along with their two cohorts. Salena Bibons and Lynn Woods do not belong in any process of governing our town. They are bent on destroying our community now and for the future.
