Folk Music - The Honey Dewdrops

The Princeton Folk Music Society welcomes The Honey

Dewdrops
, Laura Wortman and Kagey Parrish, modern day folk singer / song

writers whose songs express the joys and tribulations of love and tackle

contemporary issues such as the environment. Beat Surrender described

their sound as earthy, economical and earnest back porch Appalachian

folk.
Kagey’s voice is bright and clear while Laura’s has a smoky

texture. In performance, their voices blend and contrast in gorgeous harmony

over banjo, guitar and mandolin. Theirs is a traditional sound, while some of

their songs come with a modern-day message. Hills of Home was written to

protest mountain top removal mining. "[Their music] perfectly captures

the spirit of the Blue Ridge foothills, feeling like a collection of tunes

delivered late at night on someone’s front porch" -
