Environmental Award Recognizes Hightstown Efforts

The Stony Brook-Millstone Watershed Association will be honoring Hightstown’s Parks & Recreation Commission and the Hightstown Triathlon with an environmental award in recognition of their work in connecting our community to its waterways. Gwen McNamara, communications director for the watershed organization, adds, “It's vitally important for residents to identify with and care about our waterways in order to continue protecting clean water and the environment. The Triathlon, Friday Night Swims and water testing initiative in Hightstown are a great example of how getting people connected directly with a waterway can make a big difference.”

The award will be presented to Hightstown Parks & Recreation Commission Chair Patrick Duncan and Hightstown Triathlon Race Director Darek Hahn at the watershed association’s annual meeting on Monday, April 25th at 5:30pm at the Watershed Reserve, 31 Titus Mill Road, Pennington.
