Hightstown to Host 1000 Motorcycles for America's 9/11 Ride

Nearly 1000 motorcycles will pass through downtown Hightstown on Saturday as part of America’s 9/11 Ride.

As the motorcycles travel through the Borough around 2:15 to 3:30 p.m., Mercer Street, Main Street and North Main Street will be closed, thefire department said in a Nixle alert. 

The ride remembers volunteers, heroes and victims who lost their lives in the 2001 deadly attacks. Area residents are encouraged to come out and show support for the riders, according to the fire department.

Coming from Bordentown, the ride will go from Route 130 to Route 33, and down through the center of the Borough. The bikes will continue on Mercer Street to North Main St, and back onto Route 130 north.

The ride is held in August to allow for mourning during September, America’s 911 Ride website said. Money raised through the sponsorship ride will be used to provide educational scholarships to the children of the 9/11 first responders.
