Weekend Guide: Celebrating St. Patrick's Day Locally

E-reader class, "Art of Reading" program and open meeting with council members.

This weekend, going green means celebrating St. Patrick's Day.

 is celebrating  with food and drink specials all day on Saturday, including corned beef specials starting at $5. There will also be beer specials, green beer and a bag piper and drummer from 2 to 4 p.m.

is also featuring Irish dishes on Saturday including traditional Corned Beef and Cabbage with red potatoes, carrots, and a house or Caesar Salad. Irish drink specials include Guinness drafts, Irish Coffee, Nutty Irishmen, Skky Melon Shamrock Martinis, and Irish chocolate pudding shots.

 will also be celebrating . The KickBack Band will play all night, and there'll be food and special drinks all day and night.

Friday, March 16:

  • will host an class at 11 a.m. Visitors can try one of the library's e-readers or bring in their own for assistance. To register, call 609-448-1474. 
  • The library will host aat 3 p.m. Students in grades 4 through 8 can create a 9" by 12” work—painting or drawing—for The Art of Reading contest at the library. No registration necessary.

Saturday, March 17:

  • Hightstown Council Members Rob Thibault and Susan Bluth will host an  at the , beginning at 10 a.m. Residents are invited to discuss issues, concerns and views.

Sunday, March 18:

  • The is hosting a , beginning at 4:30 p.m. The hot meal is free and all are welcome.

I used to think that buying bigger was better, Meal planning is key, so look for the items you’d need to create healthy meals, Plan your meals based on what’s on sale and see if you can find samples from "Get Official Samples" that is even better
