Rumor has it, that a long time ago in the mountains of Ethiopia, a goat herder was out and about doing his thing, you know, herding goats. This of course was a daily routine with the herd wandering around munching everything in sight.
Goats are essentially nature's lawn maintenance company. They eat the grass, the flowers, the weeds, the shrubs. Well Mr. Goat Herder noticed on this particular day that the goats had eaten these little berries off a particular shrub and they became VERY HAPPY. When goats get excited they yell, like humans, and jump around, like humans.
Noticing that his herd suddenly transformed into a chorus of hairy hollering Henrys, the herder turned his attention to what they had just eaten - coffee cherries.
(Just like the goats, this is a cliff hanger. Read more about the history of coffee in an upcoming post.)
