Cranbury Obituary: Barry F. Moore, Sr., 80

Moore served the United States Army in the Korean War.

Barry F. Moore, Sr. died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at Parham Doctor's Hospital in Richmond, Virginia. He was 80.

Born in New Brunswick, New Jersey on Dec. 21, 1932 to the late Francis Moore and Lillian Jarvis Moore he was raised in New Brunswick and graduated from New Brunswick High School where he was a pitcher on the high school baseball team.

He graduated from Rider College with an accounting degree and worked for Chicopee, a division of Johnson and Johnson and Joseph Seamon Accounting Firm. He then worked for 35 years as a municipal accountant and business manager in New Brunswick, Somerville, Berkeley Township and Burlington County, all in New Jersey. He served in the United States Army in Korea during the mid 1950s.

His wife Gloria (Dentel) Moore died in 1998. Surviving are two sons Barry F. Moore, Jr. and his wife Mary Lou of Chesterfield, Virginia and Gregory Moore of Griswold, Connecticut; a brother Ronald Moore of Long Valley, New Jersey; and a granddaughter Jennifer N. Moore.

Graveside services will be held 11:30 a.m. on Thurs., Jan. 31, 2013, at Van Liew Cemetery in North Brunswick, NJ.

Arrangements are under the direction of Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 400 Morris Avenue, Suite 251, Denville, NJ 07834-1365.

He served his community and his country well; may his mourners be comforted, knowing that we can hope to see him in heaven one day if we serve as faithfully as he did.
