Former Hightstown Police Sergeant Edwin Alston Dies

Alston served the police department for 30 years; he was 62.

Edwin M. Alston, 62, of Hamilton Square, passed away on Monday at home.
Born in Trenton, he was a lifelong area resident. A graduate of Trenton High School, class of 1969, he retired after 30 years of service as a sergeant from the Hightstown Police Department.

Edwin was a loving father and grandfather and enjoyed playing shuffleboard, fishing and was an avid singer. Son of the late Thomas C. Alston Sr. and Helen Williams, brother of the late Anna Steinberg, he is survived by five children, Robin Guarino, Rebecca McKay, Eric Alston, Jerry Alston and Erin Alston; six grandchildren, Nicole, Joshua, Isabella, Harper, Amber and Alexandria; and best friend, Mark Lidke.

Relatives and friends may call on Friday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Buklad Memorial Home, 2141 S. Broad St., Hamilton. Burial will be private.
