Hightstown Obituary: Daniel Mark, 77

Mark lived in Hightstown for almost seven years.

Daniel Mark, 77, of Hightstown, died on Tuesday, Dec. 24, at New York Presbyterian Hospital. Mark was born in China on January 26, 1936. He came to the U.S. in 1945 and grew up in Philadelphia, PA and Burlington, NJ. He moved to Asbury Park, NJ in 1963 and opened Sam Wah Laundry on Main St., later moving to Summerfield Ave.

The family moved to Ocean Twp. in 1979 while Mark and his wife continued to operate the flourishing business until their retirement in 1995. After retirement, they enjoyed traveling to far off locations including Hawaii, Alaska, the Mediterranean, Asia, and Australia. At home, Mark enjoyed Tai Chi, Mah Jong, and keeping up with the stock market. Mark and his wife moved to Hightstown, NJ in 2007. He had a strong sense of patriotism, always "buying American" and made many donations to local and national charities.

Mark is survived by his wife of 51 years, Bik Ha Mark; his 3 children, Annette Mark Wolf and her husband David of Bridgewater, Donna Mark of New York City, NY, and Albert Mark and his wife Tina of Plainsboro. Dan is also survived by his 4 grandchildren, Kevin and Kristin Wolf; and Holden and Connor Mark. He is also survived by his brother, Kwong Eng; and nephew, Jackson Eng, both of Flushing, NY.
