Hightstown Obituary: Patricia Tornquist, 85

Tornquist lived in Hightstown for most of her life.

Patricia W. Tornquist, 85, of Hightstown, died Tuesday, Oct. 22, at Cranbury Care Center, Monroe Township. Born in Middletown, CT, Tornquist was a Hightstown resident for most of her life. She was a 1945 graduate of Hamilton High School and before her retirement in 1993, she worked as a medical secretary for Dr. Fishman in Hightstown.

Tornquist was a member of St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church and was a past president and life member of the Hightstown Engine Company 1 Ladies Auxiliary. Patricia was an avid gardener and loved to cook and bake. Daughter of the late Charles and Anna Crowely Waldron, she is survived by her husband of 61 years, Robert J. Tornquist and one son, R. Scott Tornquist.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013, at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church, 251 Franklin St., Hightstown, NJ 08520. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Barlow & Zimmer Funeral Home, 202 Stockton St., Hightstown, NJ 08520. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Patricia's name to the Hightstown Engine Company 1 Ladies Auxiliary, 148 North Main St., Hightstown, NJ 08520.
