James Boynton was a longtime resident of Rossmoor.

James F. Boynton of East Windsor, N.J., passed away Sunday, April 7, 2013, at Samaritan In-patient Hospice in Mt. Holly, N.J. He was 82. A memorial service will be held on May 4, 2013, at 11 a.m. in the Meeting House at Rossmoor.

Arrangements are by the Perinchief Chapels, Mt. Holly. A U.S. Air Force veteran, James was a longtime Rossmoor community resident. He had retired as director of media for JC Penney after many years of dedicated work and was a past board member of the Audit Bureau of Circulation.

Boynton was very active and involved in the Rossmoor community as a mutual director and board member of RCAI. He was a member of the Rossmoor Kiwanis and an active member of the Rossmoor Community Church, and was even named "Citizen of the Year" in Rossmoor. Along with all of his other activities, he still found time to enjoy reading many books and newspapers, travel with his loving wife, and spend precious time with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Patricia (nee Hartzell); three sons, James F. Boynton Jr. (Kitty), Christopher J. Boynton (Lisa), Matthew A. Boynton (Carol); six grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. As per the wishes of the family, rather than send flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Rossmoor Kiwanis Food Pantry, in care of Doug Martin, 316-N. Sharon Way, Monroe Twp., N.J. 08831, or the Rossmoor Community Church, 128 Sussex Way, Monroe Twp., N.J. 08831.
