Letter to the Editor: Maggie Needs a Home

A.F.E.W is looking for a home without other animals for this dog.

Unfortunately Maggie has been with AFEW since 2010.  For some reason she keeps getting passed over as she sits calmly while other dogs leave with their new families to go to their forever homes.  We at AFEW keep asking ourselves WHY?  Why doesn’t she get a chance?

Maggie is sweet, loves people, is eager to please, good with children, always ready with kisses and smiles. Maggie is ready to please and she appreciates everything you do for her, and she loves to cuddle.  She is spayed, up to date with her vaccinations, and is housebroken.   So why is it that she is still patiently waiting for her home??  Maggie’s only fault is that she would want to be your only child, she does much better with no other critters in her home.  That is it – just no other pets, not a hard criteria to fill.

Maggie has not given up, she still dreams of curling up at your feet while you are resting or working, she would smile proudly when she is walking beside you, and would kiss you whether you are happy or sad. Maggie May would be a best friend to a child or a companion to a nice family.  Everyone here at AFEW is praying that Maggie will find her forever home soon as we know it will be such a special time for her and she will be so happy. So, if you have some room in your heart and need a lifelong friend, Maggie is your girl.  Won’t you be the one to give her that second chance at happiness?

Like the Rod Stewart song says, we would love to sing to her... "Wake up Maggie I think I got something to say to you......YOU HAVE FINALLY FOUND YOUR FAMILY!"
