Letter to the Editor: Prom Gown Fundraiser Raised More Than $600

Council member Lynne Woods thanks the community for their support.

Dear Editor,

The Spanish Exchange would like to thank the community and the press for all its support preparing for The Prom Gown Formal Dress fundraiser. The sale produced a profit of $645. There were many happy girls and ladies who left with their purchases in hand. Thank you to all the buyers. And to all who donated dresses, thank you, and know that you made some local females very happy.

We would like to express our appreciation to  for their drying cleaning discount offer, and for their support and contribution. The event was beautiful and had a very festive feel thanks to the owners, Fran and Henry Palumbo's, donation of the Banquet room and balloon decorations.

The students from the exchange all pitched in and helped with set up, during the event and with the clean up. It was a real team effort and the students should be complimented as well.

The students are getting very excited to see their Spanish brothers and sisters who spent two weeks with them here in the U.S. last summer. These valuable friendships and cultural experiences will last a lifetime. Thank you again to all who contributed to making this event a success.
