Aggravated Assault Charge Filed Following Fight

Miguel Castro Ajanel, a 21-year-old East Windsor resident, allegedly struck another man over the head with a lamp, according to police.

An East Windsor man – Miguel Castro Ajanel, 21, of Abbington Drive – was arrested and charged with aggravated assault after he was allegedly involved in an altercation with several other men on Hooverton Place about 11:10 p.m. on Feb. 28, according to East Windsor Township police.

During the fight, Ajanel allegedly struck another man in the head with a lamp, police said, adding that that victim, whose identity was not disclosed, was “bleeding from a head wound and highly intoxicated” when officers arrived on the scene.

The victim was transported to University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro for treatment.

The suspect, Ajanel, was meanwhile taken into custody by Officer Robert Davison and later released after posting $25,000 bail, with additional court action pending, police said.
