A black bear was reported in the area of Conover Road and Sussex Lane in East Windsor at 11:35 a.m. Tuesday, Lt. Todd Hoagland of the East Windsor Police Department said.

Animal control officers and police responded to the area where the bear was seen, but were unable to locate the animal at the time, Hoagland said.
